Write a book with Blanket Dream

We are always looking for thoughtful new voices to write with us. If you are a trusted professional or experienced everyday expert with practical knowledge worth sharing, we would love to hear from you.

Who we work with

Two kinds of voices, equally valued:

Trusted professionals — therapists, financial educators, paediatric specialists, home organisers, sleep practitioners, registered nurses, certified practitioners, working teachers, dietitians, certified yoga teachers. People whose day job is the subject they would write about, with the credentials to back it up.

Experienced everyday experts — parents who have raised three children through different sleep stages, home cooks who have fed a family on a tight budget for fifteen years, grandparents who spend every weekend with the grandkids, makers who have practised a craft slowly for a lifetime. People whose expertise is built on years of lived experience.

What we are commissioning right now

Topics we are currently looking for:

  • Practical home and decluttering systems (with a calm, no-shame tone)
  • Beginner-friendly wellness and self-care (especially sleep, anxiety, gentle movement)
  • Plain-English money and household planning
  • Parenting through real situations (toddler years, school-age, teen years)
  • Quiet personal growth (habits, journaling, boundaries, confidence)
  • Slow creative practices (writing, drawing, cooking, gardening, hand-lettering)

How we work with you

  1. You send us a short note about your area, your experience, and what you would love to write.
  2. We respond within two weeks if it's a fit.
  3. We meet — video or phone — and shape the outline together.
  4. You write the draft over an agreed timeline.
  5. Our editorial team refines it into the Blanket Dream calm, beginner-friendly format.
  6. You see and approve every draft. Nothing publishes without your sign-off.
  7. Your name and credentials are credited clearly on the book.

How we pay

We pay our contributors properly — a fair flat fee for the writing work, plus an ongoing royalty share on every copy sold for the life of the book. Specific rates depend on book length and topic. We discuss money openly and early.

What we value

  • Warm, honest writing over clever, cold, or self-important writing.
  • Beginner-friendly clarity without being patronising.
  • Lived experience and real evidence, never hype, never "secret methods".
  • Calm pacing — books that feel restful to read, not exhausting.

How to apply

Email contributors@blanketdream.com with:

  • A short note about your area and experience (no formal CV needed)
  • The topic you would love to write about
  • One or two examples of your writing if you have them (any format — articles, social posts, professional documents, anything)
  • Your timezone and how you prefer to communicate

We read every message. We aim to reply within two weeks. If we are not the right fit right now, we will say so honestly.

Real voices. Real craft. Real life.

Built for hidden experts, thoughtful readers, and everyday learning.

The Story Behind Blanketdream

Hi, I’m Amelia, the creator of Blanketdream.

I started Blanketdream to bring thoughtful expertise out of the background.

Behind every guide we create, there are passionate writers, teachers, makers, planners, and everyday experts who have spent years building real knowledge. But too often, their work stays unseen.

At the same time, readers are overwhelmed by endless advice and complicated information.

Blanketdream exists to make that knowledge clear, warm, practical, and easy to use at home.

For readers, it is a place to find guidance they can trust.

For contributors, it is a way to share their expertise, reach more people, and be recognised for the work they have built with care.

Because valuable knowledge should not stay hidden.
